We hope you aren’t twitching your eyes because of the ‘big’ word in today’s topic? If you can’t answer the question it’s probably because you don’t know what facetious is so keep reading.

Facetious is an adjective pronounced  /fəˈsiːʃəs/. It can  be used to describe something or someone not meant to be taken seriously or literally.

Let’s explain it in another way. A facetious person treats serious issues with deliberately inappropriate humour;

Look at these examples

There was nothing more annoying than Dare’s facetious remark. 

Don’t get angry at what she said; Nora is facetious.
