Do you want to change your writing career drastically? These tips would help you

Focus on the craft. This is probably not what you want to hear. Everyone wants a quick fix to their writing. Some miracle combination that makes you become a better writer in a couple of weeks. Who wouldn’t love that? Sadly, there is no such thing. If you want your writing to improve, you must focus on your work. If you are a newbie don’t expect to write a best seller in one try but you shouldn’t stop writing either. Take advantage of every writing opportunity you get. It’s that simple and that hard.

Take risks. Go to that seminar where your writing mentor will be speaking, take that online writing competition, start writing that short story. You may not hit the jackpot, but it will never happen if you don’t try. You have to be bold, persistent and audacious.

Celebrate small success. It’s very easy to think you haven’t achieved so much when you haven’t finished writing your book, you didn’t win that competition or when you haven’t gotten a publisher. But one thing that can help you go on is documenting and celebrating small successes. When you finish a chapter of your book, celebrate yourself, when you write consistently for two weeks note it down. These small successes are steps to giant victories.
